This colorful piece by a well-known Mstera artist Daniil Molodkin shows a philosophical theme of non-stop cirle of changing night by a day and so on.
Daniil is one of the three brothers of Molodkins family.The other ones are Nikolay and Denis. Vladimir Molodkin,their father,is a Top Mstera artist, all of them are very well known among the collectors!
On this box we can see two giraffas as the simbols. There are a lot of insects and bugs of all of the kind around them in the grass in the background. Every character is painted very precisely, with very small details!
The palette that the artist uses a wide array of blues, greens, and earth tones to convey the natural setting in the scene. Gold as always, is used to enhance the details in the box and to fully bring the colors to life.
The depicted scene is framed with a line of gold paint. Precise and tightly wound gold foliage pattern decorates the edges of the lid. Similar, but larger gold foliage pattern wraps around the base the box.
The box is constructed from paper-mache. Black lacquer is used to paint the exterior of the box while red lacquer completes the interior of the work. The lid is hinged from the top of the scene, and the box rests on four legs. The work is signed with the artist's name, Mstera, the title and the year of 2014.
